North into the desert we go.
We will leave around 4pm (when it gets cooler) and see how far we make it. It is 24 miles to the Anderson's (more trail angels on the trail!!) The Chief is thinking of night hiking it! Full moon tonight, so it would be the time to try it........I'm scared!
Hikers are coming in here by the truckload! Folks we haven't seen in days, some weeks!
Irish, Poptart, Blue butterfly, One step, Sweetfish, many others that we don't know. It's time for us to move on!

Chickety and Neighbor,
It was great to hear from you! What a fun comment to come upon :-) I've been catching up on your blog. Sounds like quite an adventure, and looks beautiful too. Snowman says he is not so sure about all the desert miles though! It's neat that there are so many AT 05ers out on the trail with you. What fun!
We are planning to finish off our 270+ miles left in NH/Maine on the AT this summer, capping it off with the 100 mile wilderness and Katahdin in one stretch this fall. Looking forward to it!
Anyway, we'll be sure to keep up with your hike through the blog. Have a blast and happy hiking!

Hi Neighbor & Chickety,
We've never met before but we've certainly heard of you through the various hiking boards you've been kicked off from. :-)
But anyway a friend of ours started the 2008 PCT on May 7. He's crazy because he also hiked the PCT last year (2007).
We told him that you two were hiking the PCT. He will be looking for you. He goes by "Voyageur" aka Scott P. He's a local lad from NH. He also did the AT in either 2004.
Look for a guy with wild crazy hair and eventually wild beard. Tall, thin and early 50's. He does big miles every day.
We'er enjoying your blog and hope you're enjoying your trip.
